Northrend jest lodowym kontynentem, położonym na samej północy świata Azeroth. Stamtąd wywodzi się Plaga, a siedziba wrogiego Króla Lisza, Arthasa, znajduje się właśnie tam, w Icecrown Citadel. Kontynent zostanie wprowadzony wraz z nadejściem dodatku Wrath of the Lich King i wprowadzi w sumie 11 nowych stref, mnóstwo nowych potworów i questów oraz kilkanaście nowych instancji. Wszystkie nowe instancje raidowe będą miały wersję zarówno 10 osobową i 25 osobową.
